about to drill for overflow.. what about other flow?

I'm about to order the overflow kit from glass-holes.. then I got to thinking about eliminating the need of unsightly powerheads, by drilling a couple more holes on the sides, with an external pump for flow.
only problem i see, is if the hole was drilled in the wrong spot, and you want to move it up an inch or so... OOPS!

has this been done yet?

I drilled two holes for the return from the sump.
I wish I would have done more 3 or 4 and ran two pumps to get more flow...
But once the hole is drilled - there is no going back.

yeah..
but say a <1" hole is drilled for flow..
a small elbow can be added inside and pointed in any direction to change flow
I dunno.. i'm just brainstorming i suppose.

its actually a really good idea. where is the hole at for the "powerhead"
it doesn't exist yet.. it's in the design floating around in my brain :)
ideal would be side holes, but hoses would be visible on the side.

Hi there,
Interesting idea, I have not heard of one (in my personal view) in this forum in a long time.
