I ended up switching between the race and womans golf which was way more exciting. The race could have been called the pit crew challange 400.

this also brings up another issue... teams should be able to choose what tire they use!!! you dont see every single football, baseball or basketball player wearing the same shoes...
I agree they should be able to select tire... but think about this if they did allow that then someone would complain about an "unfair" advantage... and they are professional drivers (most of them anyways) and they do a great job too, but think about how much harder it would be to keep those cars on the track and not sliding around? sure the veterans would handle it fine... what about the rookies tho?? Im not trying to just disagree with you, just trying to bring up some points. last thing nascar wants is another Dale Earnhardt incident. ya it did suck and wasn't much fun to watch... lucky for me there was trophy truck racing on too so I just switched to that

Well, imo it would have been far more interesting to tell these guys hey the tires are going to last 10 laps, it is up to you. And just let them run. IMO why let them run 40 on their own but not ten? They know their limits...
I don't think they should be allowed to use different tires.
why not???
other than the person behind the wheel there are so few things that are different from car to car...
these 4 cars dont resemble each other...

as much as these 4..

They used to do that, and it ended up a crapshoot, some moron would go with really soft tires and wreck out. It just caused alot of problems. I have no problem with them using the same tires, my only question is goodyear the best choice, this isn't the first time this year that they've had this problem....

EXACTLY!!! let the teams decide... it makes their decision that much more critical... instead of forcing POS tires on everyone and ruining one of the biggest races of the season!!!

Yeah, but that will turn every race into last week! Don't get me wrong, i am ticked, but I still agree with TS goodyear needs to go!

The more I think about it those people are professionals. Once it was determined the tires were crap they should have ended the competition cautions and just let them race. If someone was able to milk more laps out of their tires shouldn't they have been allowed to take advantage of that? I think it would have made for a better race.
Oh well, at least that stain Busch didn't win

not even... these teams could (and DO) test at the tracks year round... if someone went into a track with the wrong tire its their own damn fault... and shouldnt be in NASCAR... it would cause even more of an uproar if NASCAR threw a "Competition Caution"...

Yeah that was pretty painful to watch....I stepped out for sec right before the last stops....What happened to the 20, he was top 10 and then all of sudden 26th or something

It was that second to last heat. I was pretty ticked, if he'd finished strong I'd won my week in fantasy.

Actually the teams are limited to how many and which tracks they can test at. Teams can't test at will on tracks that hold Cup races that year. Crew chiefs meet and they decide which tracks they test at. The list of available tracks is given by Nascar and the selection is made from those. (Vegas, CA, Daytona, Talladega etc. this year). Tracks that don't have a Cup race (like Nashville, Kentucky) teams can go there as much as they want.
Good Year did a invitational test at Indy and cars 83 , 2 and 88 went there and this is still the result.
This is all straight from the horses mouth.

+1 on these post ruaround. Horrible race! Wouldn't even call it a race. More like practice laps if anything. I'm a big race fan, but that was bad.
