I am just getting ready to introduce my first inverts into the tank.... a few snails is where I deceided ot start, my question is this. Do I need to do anything different to introduce these to the tank than I do when introducing new fish.
When I put them in I have heard sometimes it make take snails a day or so to move.... is it ok for them to just sit on the bottom in the sand or should I try to make sure they are someplace special????
Quick responses would be appreciated, as they should be arriving shortly.....my wife is picking them up on her way home.

You will want to acclimate snails rather slowly, drip method preferred as they are sensitive to salinity changes.

What Nas said, I recently added my first inverts (snails, from SWF.com) and used the drip method. I waited 2 hours and by the time I put them in my tank, the Mexican Turbos were crawling around. If you aren't familiar with the drip method, check out the acclimation section of this site, it really does work well and will help ease your fish and inverts into their new surroundings.Likewise, they may lay in a clump for a few hours, this is perfectly normal, it all depends. Good luck, HTH.
