acclimating boxfish

Is it o.k. to transfer boxfish from acclimating to tank with a net? or should they not be exposed to air like puffer? If so how do you transfer so water does not enter tank? In case there are poisons in water from boxfish?
Thanks,Jeff

good luck with that one.. u stress that fish and it could kill everything in the tank, including itself!
I wanted one of those, until I found that out!

Transfer him via specimen container. If he releases toxins in the acclimation bucket, he will begin breathing very heavily and possibly kill himself in the process. If you net him, you will only further stress out the fish.
If you do not already have the boxfish, I would recommend looking to get a different fish.

Thanks for the help. I know all about the risk with this fish. I think it will be fun to try. what a great fish. If he nukes tank I guess I will have to start over, oh well. Maybe that would be a good time to get a bigger tank.

Thanks, Jeff
