Acclimating Mollies to Salt tank

I am changing over my daughter's 45 FW to salt water.
I wanted some input on measurements and time period to arrive at 1.025
Little by little, but....
1st week....add enough to make 1.010???
2nd week.....1.012???
or could I get away with 1.012 the first week
2nd 1.016???

I have sw mollies myself. I keep them in my qt to ensure it stays cycled. I would increase the s.g. by 1 every week or so during a water change.

You would probably be safe doing that 1.01 twice weekly.
It is easier on the fish to acclimate INTO a saltwater environment than it is for them to do the reverse.

True ponie; I would start 1.009 say on Monday
1.011 Wed
1.013 Fri.
Lets see what happens. Keep a journal of everything you do. When my female gave birth, 32 new babies!!! Barry

One problem...I forgot about the 6 neon tetras and the clown loach....wil they tolerate the salinity change???

I wondered about the tetras..I don't think they will tolerate it at all.
The loaches are a brackish fish, but can I don't think anything above 1.01ish? Not positive on that.
Can I ask the reason you want to convert the tank?

I have been completely hooked with SH. I am plotting...I'm mean planning
for a dwarf SH....addiction courtesy of Bronca

any how....Bronco suggested turning my daughter's 45 freshwater into a Salt tank and deviding it like I did with my 90 gallon. So mollies on one side and DSH on the other

This idea sounded great until I remeber the tetras and the loach. :notsure:
