Acclimation

Tonight I am getting my first addtion. I want to know how long to acclimate my inverts? Do I add water to the bad they will be giving me?
I just want this process to go as smooth as can be for them

I usually use a shot glass and add one shot glass of water every five minutes. Once there is twice as much water in the bag, dump half the water. Then do the whole process again. Once thats done, put your new pet into the tank.
Yes, do it in the bag you get them in, make sure to float the bag for 15 minutes or so first. And make sure you don't spill the bagged water into your tank.
One last thing...
if you have a shot of vodka for each shot of water you put in the bag it becomes a REAL enjoyable experience
-Just make sure you drink the vodka shot and pour the saltwater shot!!!

Via a net? You dont mean just pour the entire contents of the bag in right?

And I don't use a net. I usually go very slowly and carefully and cradle anything new with my bare hand. I (personally) figure they should get used to my hands since they're in the tank so much anyway. A net can catch a fin or something and do damage.

What types of inverts are you adding??
I've never had anything do any serious damage. There's always a risk for an uncomfortable pinch, but nothing serious. Keep in perspective that
1) your guys have just been bounced all over
2) you're putting them into something they've never been before
3) you're WAY bigger than them
4) if you follow my instructions even THEY can see you're drunk off your a$$
All in all, I don't think a pinch is so bad
