Achilles Tang Question

As the title states this is about my Achilles tang that I have kept since Oct 06 and he is in very good condition and thriving each and everyday. My question, is the end of me adding any more fish to my tank? I have a 125 Gallon and I’ve tried twice to add a fish and with no success. I added a naso tang and my Achilles kept picking on it, till I had to return the fish, and a copperband butterfly and same results. I turned off the lights and introduced the fish that way, but it seems as though he has taken over and in the beginning he was so shy..now he it seems he is very territorial which is expected as I read up on the fish before I bought him but I was under the impression this fish only acts this way to his kind or Zebrasom species. Is my only hope to add any more fish to rearrange the rocks? Currently in my tank I have 2 percs., 4 chromis, regal angel, hippo tang and Achilles. Thanks for the help in advance

He shows aggression toward the naso tang and the butterfly because they are similar in shape. Rearanging the rocks will probably only distract him temporarily. If he is an aggresive specimen he probably won't tolerate a new tang or butterfly, but should be fine with new additions that aren't similar in shape. Good luck.

Personally, I would just leave your fish load at that. I am not saying it is full, but you have two incredibly difficult fish in the angel and tang, and a nice stock load.

I've gotta agree with the others on this one. Your tank has reached its limit. You've got two very delicate species with the Regal Angel and especially the Achilles Tang. Why risk overloading or overcrowding your tank and killing those beautiful fish? Its just not worth it in my opinion...

Thanks everyone for the tips and opinions. The hardest thing about the Regal and the Achilles was for them to eat, they eat like pigs the both of them...I even have the Regal eating algae flakes lol, and the achilles eats out of my hand. I wanted the copperband to do what 80% of the people pick them up for and that is to eat all the aptasia(sp) in the tank. My LFS has a copperband that is bigger then the achilles and I was told if thay do not get along I could bring back the copperband. So this weekend I will try and report the experiment. Thanks everyone.

Great looking tank! Congradulations you have a couple of the hardest to get to eat. I would be happy with that!
