Anyone else have this problem? I just ran out of

for it, and am now up all night tonight because when I lay down to sleep everything comes out of my stomach. Pretty Nasty. Chocolate is the worst trigger for me.

Yeah, it gets me sometimes, I find milk or peanut butter are the more effective on-hand items. Granted it's small relief but it's something.

im 10 years old and have gerd and its hard to put up with the pain you could try bread and that will soak up some of the acid but dont lay down flat though keep your head up like 4-6 inches with lots of pillows or sinderblocks under your bed so the acid cant get get up

Yes those all are things I do. I just my prescription filled for Protonix it is 90% effective for me and when I do get it, it is not as bad.

I have it. I use Prilosec which used to be prescription but now is sold OTC so my insurance won't cover it anymore.

I think chocolate, hawaiian punch, and orange juice are the worst triggers for me.

Tums usualy works pretty well for me. But I also noticed that the more you take medications to treat it, the worse it gets. I went cold turkey with the Tums and sufferd for about a week. But now im heartburn free nearly 100% of the time WITHOUT meds.

That was my same experience!
I also heard (haven't tried it) that you should sleep on your right side since the esophogus connects with your stomach on the left side.

Yeh, but is that for heart burn or reflux? I don't have the acidy feeling I just wake up in the middle of the night with everything running right out of my stomach. I usually run for the bathroom gaging and then have to sit up for about 2 hours before I can even lay down at all. Its kind of like throwing up without the muscle contractions and heaving. Is that how anybody else's symptoms are?

home remedy that worked for me goes as follows:
1 tablespoon of vinegar everynight(before i go to bed) with nothing to dilute it for about a month will make your stomach stop producing so much acid after 30 days of this the acid in your stomach is deplished due to vinegar and stomach stops producing as much. Therefore no more acid reflux desease until stomach starts making more acid a year later due to your metabolism catching back up. Only time i get heartburn now is when i drink hard liquor. But at least i can enjoy my orange juice and koolaid again without feeling like im dieing from heartburn. Hope this help a few people as it worked for me and was alot cheaper than the

i used to take zantac 75 for a while, but then i started getting lightheaded nautious and dizzy all of the time. stopped taking the zantac, and i was back to normal. but the acid reflux came back. now i just watch what i eat. no chocolate, no caffiene, no hard liquer unless im looking to get really slammered. i cut down on my natural sugar intake and mainly stick to sugar substitues if anything.
another thing i notice is if i start drinking (beer, liquer, whatever) and just continue at a slow steady pace, i dont get sick. its the moment i stop, actually about 20 moments, that i start feeling like crap. but i could drink 6-8-12 beers, not be hammered and the acid doesnt come on until i stop. seems weird to me.
