I've had acne for about four years straight, thinking that sooner or later it would go away. Guess what, it hasn't and in the past 2 months i've tried everything
-Clearasil Ultra
-Proactiv
-some alcoholtype liquid
-Natures Sunshine Acne Cream
-& 2 Chinese face masks
nothings works for me.
i'm going crazy inside and feel like i'm going to burst, literally.
What the hell can I do to stop them.
I've also noticed that whatever I try only works the first couple of times then doesn't do cr@p. I'm so mad and just feel like cutting my head off.
Help me please

I had it when I was 17 in highschool and I sometimes get the occasional pimple and I'm 30. Do you have mild, moderate or severe acne? Papules, pustules, whiteheads and/or blackheads? Acne can also scar if left untreated. How bad is it? The stuff you buy at the

is only good for very mild acne such as clearasil. Proactiv is only for mild acne and pretty much worthless because it has a very low dose of prescription medicine. Seek a dermatologist and not a primary care physician.
If you have mild-moderate acne I would seek the following treatment.
Brevozyl or Triaz face wash 2x/day
Apply Evoclin in the evening to your face which is an anti-biotic
Apply Differin in the morning to your face
And possibly an oral anti-biotic such as minocyclin depending on your severity. Also, Acutane can be used for severe acne but can have side effects. Good Luck,

wash your face at least twice a day...i use clearasil daily face wipes. Never ever leave your makeup on and go to bed (if you are a girl). i notice that when i eat a lot of junk food i break out like crazy, so try eating more nutritiously. stress can also cause acne. don't touch your face at all! use oil blot wipes if you have a greasy face. When you moisturize your face in the morning use an oil free cleanser...i use H2O hydrating gel...it works great! If none of this help then maybe you should see a dermatologist, so they can perscribe you some powerful stuff.

what do you guys do about an oily "shiny" face? Thats what my biggest problem is. Besides using wipes to get it off my face, do you know of any products that actually stop the shine?

I'm a guy and it's more between medium & severe.
My dads got it, most of my cousins have it so it's kind of genetic. (i think)

i use Clear Touch Oil-Absorbing Sheets. They work really good. My face gets really oily but this stuff is great... it stops the shine. it's kind of gross seeing how much oil these things pick up.

I agree a good toner or astringent, non-alcohol, two or three times a day.

I use a belt sander and angle grinder, just joking. There is a great book called "Clear Skin" cant remember the author. It dispells many myths associated with what causes acne and provides methods for clearing the most stubborn conditions. Check it out.

It has been proven that acne is NOT caused by the foods consumed, just the skin and it's oils. Very frustrated I had to see a dermotologists when I was in High School. My son uses Proactiv with great results. You cannot use the walmart brand or the ones sold there. You have to order it online or through the adds on TV. They are different. It works very well for my son.

i have 3 friends that had pretty bad acne, all thoughout freshman and sophomore year. they went to the dermatoligist and he put them on acutane. its a very serious and strong treatment but it works. u just have to be faithful about obeying the rules while on it and acutally take the meds when the doctor says to. its so strong, when women are on acutane, they also have to be on birth control b.c it is know to cause birth defects. anyways, this is a med that has helped my friends and it works if ur the right person for it. i hope this helps.

alot of what you eat can affect, to an extent, the intensity of breakouts. genetics obviously plays its role here. i had it....bad. I was on the otc stuff, didnt work, then i went RX, helped some but, then one day i stopped drinking sodas and noticed my complextion was better. Coincidence? no, cause i still ate all the chocolate, fries, pizza, only cut down sodas.

proactive can take 6-8 weeks to even start working... you've tried a lot over the past 2 months, so that means you didn't use proactive for very long. I had the clearest skin in high school, but when i was 22, i started getting it bad around my cheek area and the area south diagonal to my mouth... i thought it was from the way i held my phone at work, so i got a headset, but that didn't help. I've been on proactive for about 3 months now, and it's helped a lot. I still get the occasional pimple (those really mean under-the-skin ones that never show their head, but hurt like hell), but other than that, it's gone. I still have some scars where it was, but that'll take a while to go away. IMO, you shouldn't stop using something cause it hasn't helped right away, cause it does take time for the bacteria and oils to clear up out of your skin.
