Anyone else want to comment? Oh, also I changed the rock word so it is almost like two pillars on each side, I will take a pic and post it tomorrow, along with some others...night everyone.

hey man, sounds like you going to have a good set up. Here are some thing i would do if i was setting your tank up
I since $$ is an issue, i would get as much Live rock as you can at once. Let say, 10lbs to start with, and get a bag of 15lb bag of Regular sand(not Live) and then a 5lb bag of Live sand. By getting some live sand and rock it will "SEED" your non live stuff
So when getting the LS and LR add them both in tank at once, so over time your "Dead" rock and sand will become "Live". Also one thing you could do is get one Raw Shrimp and stick it in tank until you see a spike in ammonia and get the cycle underway
For Filter the pengiun will be fine, but also i would get like an aquaclear 20 or 50 and gut it out and turn into a refugium with some Cheato,LR, and small light
Flow- one or 2 Koralia 1's
other than that, you good to go... cant wait to see the build undereway

Thanks nano, I never even though of making a fuge out of a aquaclear, that's engenious. And yeah, once I get the money for the sand and LR, and filter and salt. I will set it up and let it cycle a while. Then maybe I will add like a clean up crew just to keep things moving. I prob won't have this thing up and going until late june or even late july, as I will be gone in Costa Rica from July 8th-27th and I really don't trust my parents to know how to do wc and top ups with my salt water setup.
-Kevin.
P.S. I am going to upload some more pics tonight and post them, and I think I will look around maybe I can find another reefer to get some lr and ls from at a decent price. :]

looks good dude... I was thinking too that if you didnt wanna get much LR and wanted to use all your base that you have already just get one nice size piece of Live rock to see all the others. Just a thought, and a lil money saver lol
Also, i dont think you need a skimmer either. I have been running my tank 8 months without one and things are perfect

You will want to move the rock away from the glass on the side enough to clean the glass. Whether you use a magnet glass cleaner or some type of scraper if you can't get in between the rock and the glass algae will build up there.

Thanks, Spanko, I did move it ou just now so my mag-float fits back there. Nano, I checked my LFS fo live rock today and their price is pretty expensive...to me that is, they want $7.99/lb for the first 10 lbs, then $6.99/lb for 11+. I think I will get a bigger piece and split it in two pieces so I can have a piece for each "island". Aquaguy I will be putting sand in there, it's just I am broke right now, so I have nothing haha. I will be trying to pick up some stuff next week, when I get paid.
What do you guys think the order of purchasing my supplies should be?
I need.....
1.) Filter
2.) Lighting (most likely going last)
3.) Heater
4.) Salt mix
5.) Test Kit
6.) Hydrometer
7.) Thermometer
8.) New hood (to keep salt spray in)
9.) LR & LS
I can pick up the hydrometer and thermomter pretty cheap. But the other things are most likely going to be bought one at a time when I am paid, as I have to pay off my trip this summer, and most of my money will be going towards that.

looks good, when are you gonna full it?
It probably won't have water in it until August, as I am gone all of July in Costa Rica and I can't rely on my parents
to know how to maintain the tank, plus I most likely won't have all the supplies to have it up and running much before then as I am paying for the trip with most of my paycheck.

Spanko, do you mean I need to move the rocks away from the glass in the back on the tank or the sides of the tank?
I was speaking of the sides. Rock at the back glass will be okay if you are going to let the coralline grow there anyway. If you plan to keep it clean well the same thing applies about being able to get back there. The biggest concern if you plan to keep rock against the back is to ensure you have some flow back there so that things don't sit and rot causing water quality problems.
