Acrylic or Glass?

i found a bunch of old tanks downstairs and im not sure if they are acrylic or glass. how can i tell?

glass is a lot heavier than acrylic pick them up if there is a diff. in weight that will tell you

i dont have a frame of reference though.

a 55 acrylic can easily be lifted with one hand. a 55 gal glass is best lifted by 2 people.

the seams on acrylic are joined with the adhesive only in the actual joint, where glass aquariums have silicon spread between and in the trough of the joined panels to ensure sealing since it is not as strong.

Tap it with something metal like a ring, the sound cannot be mistaken. Then tap that same metal on a window.

glass has a green tint to it on the edges

take a nail and run it across the front of the tank. No just kidding I would try the ring thing.
