My 29 g hex is acrylic and I have terrible algea growing on the walls. They are green and some are kind of purpley. They have grown in deformed little circles all over and I can barely see in anymore - they are very hard to scrape off without scratching the acrylic.
Is there something that eats these or that you can add to dissolve them?
This got very out of hand and now I just don't know what to do.
Help please!! I hate to crash my tank cleaning this.
Thanks.

Ok, I screwed up bad. I could not take care of the tank - my father got very ill and I spent every minute away from work caring for him and the tank just got fed daily and thats it! No water change (only added) nothing- I can't believe the fish are still alive.
ANYWAY - this is what has happended- my father is now much better and I can concentrate on this again. Please Help!
Does anything dissolve or eat this? Also there is lots of hairy algea growing in the tank. LOVELY!
I was only able to attach one picture -( file not big enough it said)
