I recently was able to pick up some free lighting ...
It was actually from the Wii retail displays - the store I work at was tossing the display so I was able to grab two of the lights.
They are T4 - 8 watt blue bulbs -- I realize they aren't high output so they probably would do much for growth of stuff - but, do what does everyone think about using them like actinics? Just for the blue light? I hooked it up and I like the way the tank looks - I only have a regular hood light that came with the tank..
...at least until I upgrade my lighting. I guess if it looks good - should I treat them as actinics and do some sort of lighting schedule with them and my other lights?
