just wanted to get some opinions on my new addition a of a niger trigger.
iv'e had him for about 2 weeks he is about 2 inches and is doing great in my tank. he is not aggressive at all and just roams all day. i have a 72 gallon with 70 lbs of live rock.
my fish list:
flame angel
true percula
2 chromis
royal gramma
niger trigger
Am I taking a big risk by adding the niger? so far he is getting along great, people have told me that as long as i keep well fed he should fine.

Right now you are ok, but when the niger gets to about 5" you might have some domination issues. He will not eat anything, but he may chew some fins and bodies up

Nigers are great fish; but they are triggers. He may turn nasty, and may not. A lot of folks have had other experiences; but I think Nigers get a bad rap and usually stay pretty civil. When he gets bigger, the Royal Gamma, being timid, may start looking tasty.

when he gets bigger, he will eat ur inverts, including small snails. if u hv an extra tank 2 year from now, maybe u can move him. or u might get lucky, and the niger doesnt bother anything. they r also known to rearrange things in a tank.

no... he may or he may not turn nasty. you can never tell with them. and when it does, all your fish are in trouble.
hate to say it, but this is why questions really should be asked BEFORE getting the fish :(

Also it will outgrow that tank.. When that happens then the tankmates will be at risk..
