Added live aragonite substrate to already established tank

Hello all! I have a very serious question in regards to new substrate and our fish. Last night, my boyfriend and I added 20lbs of live aragonite substrate to our already established 29 gallon saltwater tank; there was approximately 30lbs of substrate already in the tank. The tank is VERY cloudy. I've done some research and realized that a lot of people had to deal with this extremely cloudy water for days/weeks before it cleared up and if that is the case, are my fish going to be safe? We have an Arc Eye Hawkfish, a Red fin Mandarin Goby, 2 turbo snails, 2 hermits and a sand-sifting starfish. I moved the fish to our 10 gallon quarantine tank, but there is no substrate for my goby to burrow into. Can I put them back into the 29 gallon tank, will they essentially be able to breath with the particles of sand being mobile? The starfish has been in the tank the entire time and is fine so far. Thank you in advance for you help!

First never put sand in the tank w fish. 2nd if you have a mandarin there not. Sand sifters. 3rd once your water clears test it, if all is good than put your fish back

I think you'll be fine. In an established tank the bacteria colonize the small grains quickly allowing it to settle.
