how can i add a 30g tank to my existing 120g tall...i want it off to the side but tied in with existing system

Could you be more specific? Do you have a sump? If you don't then the answer is no. Otherwise, you could just have them both drain into the same sump basically giving you 120+30+(??sump??) for total water volume.
