I've had mine for 5 months now, and so far so good. However I would not do it again, and this is why:
1. He hides most of the time, and that's all you can see is his head.
2. Very time consuming... Even though I got him to eat, I still need to spend some time with it by the time he decides to eat his snack.
This is what I did in order to get him to eat:
1. Installed a PVC pipe under the sand
2. I started with a gold fish to get him to eat, however I must warn you that it took me good few hours a day for the first week or so before he ate.
3. After he ate a few goldfish I switched to frozen silversides.
