Adding a Tomini Tang?

So I have been rebuilding my reef for just over a year now...it crashed last time I moved apartments. While it was a horrible thing to go through, it did give me a chance to rectify some of the mistakes I had made up until that point (ie - having a 2 1/2 foot SFE in my reef knocking everything over!)
Anyways, my tank has been basically fish-less up until about 3 weeks ago (shrimp, crabs and lots of snails, but no fish). I have spent a lot of time rebuilding the coral part of the reef, and I am pretty happy with that progress. However, although I love coral more than the fish themselves, I think fish make a reef look alive.
Anyways, during the fishless period, I did a lot of reading on the boards as to what fish people liked and didn't like, knowing that one day I would want to add fish again. This selection process has been complicated as I now have about 15-20 colonies of zoas, several LPS, and I cannot add a fish that would run the chance of eating them (so no flame angel - damn).
My first choice I added about 3 weeks ago a FoxFace, that is doing great. Love it...great personality, always moving, always foraging, no patterns, no diseases, basically my dream fish. However, the one other fish I have always wanted was a Tomini Tang (I blame Brooklyn Johnny for this!). They are pretty hard to find, but I have found someone who is selling one, and it is something I would like to buy.
My water parameters are great, my coral is thriving, and the foxface is happy. My tank is a 55 gallon, HOB skimmer, 240 PC lights (50% 10k, 50% 03 Actinic), lots of LR, and a shallow CC bad (yeah, that's one thing I should ahve fixed during the crash). Anyways, my question after this long ramble...the tomini (basically a colorful Kole) is fine in a tank that size, as is the foxface. However, would they both be fine in a tank that size? These would be the only two fish, but I do not want to create a bad situation for eaither one.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts / opinions.

I can already tell you that 90% of the people on this board will tell you that any Tang wont be happy in a 55gallon since they need lots of room to swim

Paul,
Thanks for the input and generally I would agree with that statement.
But it was my understanding that a Tomini Tang (a member of the bristletooth tang family) is generally not considered the vast open water swimmers that other tangs are, and I was looking to see if that was indeed true.
Any thoughts?

I would agree with that, but, they do put on some size over time.
So do you have future plans to get a larger system?
Is the one you are interested currently kept by another hobbyist? How large it is, how long have they had it?
I'm not generally opposed to this situation, but I'm not sure if the 55g is a suitable home for the rest of the life of this specimen. What sort of tank is it in at the moment?

Ophiura,
Thanks for the reply. And based on my limited communications, here is the info I have:
The Tomini is currently in an individual's tank, which I believe is a larger system around 75 - 90 gallons with numerous other fish, including other tangs;
I believe the person has had the Tomini for about 6 months;
The Tomini is healthy, it eats, displays no stress, and it is peaceful to its other tank mates;
The Tomini is about three (3) inches in length.
Future system...hmmm...the eternal question! "Yes" the eternal answer! Realistically, one day I would like to have a larger in-wall system. However, living in SF, I currently have no immediate plans to buy a house, and thus I think the only prudent thing to assume would be that these fish would be in my tank for a period of years. If they outgrew the system, then I would have to give the fish to another hobbiest (which is what I did with my SFE - sad for me, but better for the fish).
I was planning on going and having a look at the fish sometime over the weekend. However I was concerned, and still am concerned, with disturbing the peaceful siuation that I currently have in my tank...I really do not want to stress out the FoxFace. However, assuming that the FoxFace would not be stressed (depending on feedback), then I think the addition of a bristletooth would compliment the FoxFace's quite well, assuming they could both happily live in a 55 gallon tank...which I guess is my basic question (although I doubt it has a simple answer!)
Thanks again for everyone's help, it is greatly appreciated as always.

I am not a member of the tang police, at least not card carrying :D IMO, a small bristletooth tang in a 55g is not too much of an issue. If you have plans to not add other fish, and CAN make the decision, should it be warranted, to give the tang to someone else, than I don't have too many problems. Whether it will disturb the peace, however, is impossible to know, IMO. Definitely very tempting, I can see, to find one from a hobbyist who has kept it some time now. :)

Ophiura,
I appreciate the feedback, and I am glad you see the temptation! No disease, friendly, eating, no HLLE, no patterns in the swimming, no LFS stress induced stuff....the temptation might be more than I can take! I am weak!

I love my Tomini..I call him MoJo.He is a great fish....he does'nt much care for my LMB...but is never violent,he just gets pushy with him.I believe it's because they both eat algae.

My yelloweye kole does the same thing with my LMB as well. Im sure because of the simular feeding habbit, methods. Not sure about a foxface, if they feed simular. But IMO the tang should know not to mess with it because of the toxin.

also flames are not ALL coral eaters. infact it is more a game of chance if if the flame starts to be interested in disturbing the coral. i have one in my reef for quiet a while and he has never touched my coral at all. so maybe u can think about that because they are awsome fish overall and i love mine.

Thanks everyone for the feedback, and I am pretty excited about the tomini...I will let you know if I decide to get it after an in-person look.
Rubberduck - I really love flames, but with my reef set-up, the reality is that anything I put in there I will not be able to get out without breaking the reef down. So with a 50-50 chance, it is just not a risk I am willing to take...I have spent too much time getting my zoas happy. It is a shame though because I agree, they really are a spectacular fish, and great for smaller tanks like a 55.
Thanks again for everyones thoughts.
