Adding another clown?

I have a black saddleback clown now in a 38 gallon. If I can find another one, would I be able to easily add it with minimal stress? If so, should I attempt to get one that is bigger or smaller than the one I currently have?

i'd suggest,if you MUST,go with smaller-you're sdlbk is a female-adding a smaller would be a male & the one in the dt will be the dominant one

Agreed. I have also seen many tanks with multiple clowns living well together although they are mostly of the more peaceful ocellarus kind.

I know your tank and you should be fine, if you add a new one make sure it is smaller, and maybe add two
Add only one. If you add two, the third one will be beat up and eventually killed by the two that has paired up. Like everyone said make sure you add a smaller one. just my .02
