Adding aragonite sand

I have cc in my new FO 65 gal tank. I am going to add some aragonite sand today. All I have in the tank so far is 5 clean up crew crabs. My question is: Whats the best way to add the sand. Do I mix it or just let it sit on top. Do I have to do anything special to the sand first? Any suggestions or comments appreciated!!!

best off to just replace it all now, especially wiht nothing in the tank(fish or corals), now would be the easiest tiem to do it

If I was to ever make the move to sand, I would completely remove all cc. Sand and CC is just as bad as cc alone. You wont be able to do it after...
