Adding clams

I was just vacationing at the Outer Banks in North Carolina and noticed little clams in the sand in the under tow of the waves and was debating on picking up a few to put in my sand bed. I know people are always saying not to put stuff from the shoreline in yur tank, but would a few tiny clams with colorfull shells hurt?

I am with nolofinwe on this. they store what they eat and discard the rest, I would say this would be a risk. JMO
