What are the fish in the tank?
Do you have live rock?
What kind of lights do you have?
Do you test for alkalinity and calcium?
Have you ever dosed coppper or a medication in the tank?

The eclipse fixture will not be able to keep corals very well. If you intend to keep corals, you will need to upgrade the light fixture.
What size is this eclipse?

He is probably referring to the Tang. 4ft 55 gallon is small for an adult size one, there is little swimming room for them. They usually recommend 6ft+ tanks.
Ok started to post at the same time..

Depends on which corals you like. If you want to keep anything then you will want to go with T5 or MH. If you just want softies(good for beginers) then you can go with PC. To save money buy the best light system you can so you dont need to upgrade.
