Adding Freshwater to top off salt tank

How do you guys add freshwater to the tank when you top off the water from evaporation? When the freshwater is introduced to the tank, my fish love to swim into it, and play in it like it is some special treat. I just don't get it, am I doing it wrong? The same thing happens when I add it through my sump, the fish go in front of the freshwater coming from the sump????

In my reef the top-off is always dripped(with either seachem reef builder/advantage or kalk)...never really add just water to the reef. In my 2 fish only systems I pour ro/di water in to bring the level back up about every 4-5 days and my fish do like yours....they play in it(I tell my 9 yr old son thats how the shower)...
I do try to insure the temp is close to tank level and add slowly...

I place a bucket of water on my hood and let the water slowly siphon down to the main tank using a small hose. Simple but it works.
And like others my fish also seem to be fascinated with the freshwater. <img src="graemlins//urrr.gif" border="0" alt="[urrr]" />

I fill a gallon jug of dechlorinated water, add a cap of concentrated Calcium, half a cap of Coral Vite, 8-10 drops of iodine, 8-10 drops of chromaplex.
The Soup...!
After two years I consider that I have found an almost perfect mix to keep everyone happy....!

Noticed the same thing when I just dump water in. Couple possible reasons: 1) Water is a little cooler? 2) Lower salinity levels are slightly easier for fish to breathe in, kinda like us standing in front of a fan on a hot day, and
3) Related to #2 cooler water has more oxygen "holding" capability. Might feel like "A breath of fresh air"? Just my thoughts. Fester
