Adding LR need expertise

Hello, my friend just set up a 29gal and is going to put LR in it, I think she should mix salt and get levels where they need to be and then add LR. What do you think? How do we know when it is safe to add LR.
Any advice would be great

hi, i'm pretty sure you should add the salt first. also want to be sure temp is right - 78-82 most likely.
the better water conditions, the less die off.
1) is the rock cured or uncured
2) are there any other fish in there?
if the rock s uncured, be sure to fully cycle it first. alot will die off

Search the forums for "tank cycling" You should get all the info you need by reading the results of your search.

Definitely at the very least establish the specific gravity within acceptable ranges prior to adding LR. Fresh water without salt will kill the majority of life on the LR as well as the bacteria contained within the LR...:thinking:

It is cured LR there are no fish in it, she just set it up and added the SW.
