Adding Phosphate 4 algae?

Why would you want to? Phosphates are in almost everything that you put in the aquarium, like fish food. The general idea is to reduce phosphates with regular water changes. If you are looking to grow micro algaes away from a display tank you might experiment with it.

If you are just trying to grow algae, I really don't know what their requirements are. Most of us use algae for nutrient up take and as a form of nutrient removal.
As far as all of the additives go, I have found that they cause me more problems that benifits. I use regular water changes
for my trace elements and dose with calcium for my corals and clams, that's it.

Nutrients also come nicely packaged as...fish... Simply add one or two, feed daily, and ...Presto...Nutrients.
