adding rubble from l/r vats from lfs

I'm looking for a lttle more diversity in my dsb.
Does anyone seed their sand beds with rubble from the bottom of l/r curing tanks from lfs? I was thinking of doing this since i really don't know many other reefers locally that have a dsb in their tanks. Good resource for added bennificial critters to my established dsb or not?

Yes it is a great source of diversity...I've added approximately 50 lbs or so over the past 2 years. With any luck I'll pick some up later today...going to Lubbock to visit a few LFS's I do business with.

I ask my LFS for some every month or so. Usually it's right before I sign the check, so he gives it to me.

Some lfs will throw away the rubble that comes in the box when it arrives. I used to show up on shipment days and ask for the boxes. They always gave em to me and I would cure it at home.

Thanks for all the replys. I was planning to as jwtrojan has done and use it for pod piles in the back of my main tank. Looks like another trip to the LFS tomorrow.
