Adding SOME LR to Already Established Tank

Will adding 9 lbs of CURED live rock to an already established and well cycled 60 gallon tank with 50 lbs of LR already in it cause a nitrate spike?
I had a few open spots that needed LR and I got 9lbs of Jamaica LR that was already cured.

Did you buy it locally or was it shipped? If it was shipped, there will be some die off. I would recure it in a seperate container.
Otherwise IMO it will be ok to add it to your tank, just keep an eye on your ammonia levels.

I bought it locally, and took about 30 mins to get home and drop in the tank. I rinsed it real well in s/w then dropped it in the tank. So I guess I"ll be allright .

I have done this many times before without any trouble...in my 55g over a 2month period I added 30lbs and never lost a living thing. I have about a 1hour drive home from LFS that has good LR or a 20 mintue froma LFS that has crappy looking LR
