I've got a 30 gallon eclipse and I'd like to add a protein skimmer and more filtration. Any suggestions?

For a tank that size, you probably don't have a whole lot of room.
For a power filter, maybe a whisper or the smaller emporer. I could be wrong, but a Prizm skimmer might be about the smallest that does a good job once you figure out how to use it. I use a Prizm on my 55 and also have the larger Emporer 400. I am very pleased with both.

the eclispe that u have would do very well. isnt that the eclispe 3.. it works very well just make sure u get 1-2 power headss

The filtration on the eclipse hood should be fine. But if you wish to add more I would go with some kind of under the tank sump filtration.
I ran a reef for a while with the eclipse hood and added a skimmer and more lights.
I did have to make a few cuts in the hood to make the skimmer fit but nothing too dramatic.
