Advantages with PC lighting

What are the advantages of using a Power Compact lighting. I have the chance to upgrade, but I am not sure. Help me decide.

PC's are nice because you can get a good amount of light/wattage in a small space. But unfortunatly there doesn't seem to be a real good blue(actinic) color in PC bulbs. If you could go with VHO,or MH you would be much happier.But if your tank is small(30gallons or less) the PC's would be fine.Just look into regular flo's for the blues.

What does VHO stand for?? I currently have one actinic and one white tube lights. This is on a 35 gallon tank as well. So, is there any advantage to go from that to PC lighting??

Your current lighting will only be good for viewing fish.

VHO= Very High Output, For general knowledge VHO's are just a more efficient PC.

You will need to cram in as many PC fixtures as will fit in your hood(prolly 2) and you will be able to keep some low light corals but don't expect a great deal of choices though.
I recommend MH lighting, DIY kits are cheaper than manufactured PC kits.
Why limit your corals choices and waste money doing more upgrades because most serious reef keepers eventually have MH lights and most reef keepers are serious,IMHO.
