Advice needed...DIY Canopy and Lights

Yo peoples...
Here is what I am proposing for my lighting...
Tank:
90 gallon
Lenth: 48"
Width: 18"
Height: 24"
Lighting
2 X 250W MH Retro
2 X 96W PC (or) 4 X 55w PC
Any advice? Should I go with the 4 55w or the two 96w? Enought wattage for the MH?
Suggestions? Am I stupid? Am I a genius?
I will post a pic of my proposed canopy as soon as the boards allow it. I am going to make it 12" inches tall.

djminus1, I went with 2x250w MH and 4x65w pc actinics for my 120. I love the light I get. Would be great lighting on a 90! Check the pics of my tank in the treads--Tank progress. Also Masala has good pics of his 90 lighting set up in a newer thread as well. Good luck!!

Should be plenty of light with the MH good choice!!!! Why PC's over VHOs?

Uhhhh...I don't really know why I picked PC over VHO. The LFS by me has unbelievable ligting on their displays and they swear by MH/PC for any tank.
Why should I consider VHO?
I am pretty new to this.
