Advice on Saltwater Tank/Nitrogen Cycle!

So I purchased some CUC members as my first members of the tank.
I got 5 blue legged hermit crabs and 3 Nassarius snails.
Testings have been steady and havent changed.
One thing that did is my temperature, and I am kind of freaking out. It shows that my water is 80, being that it was 74-76 before. I think it might be my cheap lights that I have. Any thoughts??

considering you have a plastic closed lid, your temp will go up when the lights are left on. turn the lights out and check it in the morning, if anything you can turn the heater down. If not, leave the lid open so some of the heat can escape. That may help your problem with the evaporation on your light too.

80 is not a bad temperature for a reef tank.
I would suggest raising the temperature of the heater to 79-80 degrees. This may stabilize the temperature to that range and do away with the swings in temperature you see. Some testing needs to be done here to see if that works, set the temp than monitor where the tank goes when the lights are on.
If you set ther and the temp rises above 80 degrees then you know you have to do something to help cool the tank. A fan in the hood, leaving the hood open, new lighting etc. etc.

Sorry for the absense, had nothing exciting going on. Now that I am back I have some pictures of my tank with 2 clownfish to show! I got them on Tuesday night, and they seem to be doing just fine. They were a little shy at first, wouldnt get out of the corner, but as time went on they got comfortable, and now swim all over the tank together!
I also have some kind of (hopefully) algae on my sand and on my rock. I also have pictures of that. I am getting ready to do a 2nd water change. Did a 3 gallon one about 8 days ago, and now since this stuff appeared I feel the need to change 3 more gallons out, and add some clean water! Its been in my bucket since last night (8PM) with a heater and a powerhead to keep it circulated.
If you guys can help me figure out what the nasty stuff is that would be great! I hope its nothing bad that will harm my fish. I also have 3 snails and 5 blue hermit crabs. (do I need more?)
Also, is there anything I should do in particular since I have fish now except to not over feed them and make sure the levels are right??
I did a water test with the current water, and it seems good. Ammonia = 0, Nitrite = 0, Nitrate = 5, pH = 8.2.
Here are the pics:
