I'm having trouble getting the air intake set correctly. I jump from no foam to and a million little tank bubbles to the cup overflowing with water. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Turn it super slow until you reach the spot that works. Read the directions it should tell you were you want the water level for best results. My skimmer has to be as low as I can set it for it to work.
Get a real valve instead of the threaded plug that comes with it. I always had good luck opening up the valve until the pump was just pushing a little foam and slowly close it until until the water flow kicked back in. It is pretty obvious when the water starts flowing. That seemed to get the best production for me.
Mine did the same thing for like a week or 10 days, so i just left it running witht the vavle fully closed and retried it every day, If your tank is new, and you put that Slime stuff in your water it messes it up for a while, also read the instructions, it tells you all this stuff, just have patience, it will start working eventually. or at least mine did just like the instructions said. todd
It is new and the tank has just cycled. Maybe part of the problem is that I'm not sure how they are supposed to work. Should the foam just barely fill the tube leading to the cup? It seems like if the foam is at the top of the tube, the cup has no choice but to fill up with water.
if your cup fills with water u have to much air going to it. mine took abour 2 weeks to even out. then each time u do a water change it will bubble again for a day. dont play with it after a change it will level out be sure to clean your filter sponge with each water change will make a huge difference. I fill my cup about once a week and remove empty and clean the cup. Each tank is different and like was mentioned before make very small turns. They work a lot better than most give them credit for.
my 2 cents
With the tank being that new, you should not have alot of gunk yet.
I did as blemmy did, I closed the valve completely, then opened it a 1/2 turn each day till I got it to the right amount.
I eccho his suggestion, read the manual and be patient, it will settle in and start doing its job

Well some gunk will. But it will "when you have enough to remove" it will bubble up and over the tube and into the collection cup. That was just a diagram showing you about the water level "where to set it".
No that is just showing what mine did. The instructions said to have it set as low as possible but to get it to work right and be quite I have to have set around there. So it is just showing you that you need to keep a moving it till you get it were you like it. Most "venturi style skimmers" will creat noise when opened all the way and you have to close them up alittle to make it quite. It will baiscally work anywere you set it you just want it set as low as possible.
No I was just showing you that you have to keep with it. I dont know if they seaclone has to be set low or note. I was just showing you that you have to keep adjusting cause not always the instructions are right.
