Well i just found a deal on an awsome acrylic 29g, but im kinda confused as to what i should use to run it. I dont need lighting for SPS's or anything,i just want to keep fish, zoos, shrooms and softies :) Heres the tank:

dimensions are approx:
36 length,16 tall 13 depth.
would i be ok to use a coralife lunar aqualight, the 30 inch one? I saw 30 instead of 36 because the 30 can fit under the canopy. i believe its 130 watts,so would i have good coraline/soft coral growth?
what im very confused about though is the filtration,i want a fuge for sure...but as you can see from the pic..theres really no room under the tank for storage..should i devise a way to hide a sump behind it? Or would i be ok to use a HOB skimmer and fuge along with good rock and water changes? powerhead recommendations? how much waterflow is too much in a 29g?
If i need a sump, should i have the tank drilled??? ugh im so lost!!! lol let me know your opinions,i really need them!! <3

if you want a fuge that bad, why don't you just use one of the ones that hang on the back. They are pretty nice.

I would say that a hang on fuge is convienient if theres room for it. What about underneath it? Is there room for a 10Gal you can make your own?
130W PC's with actinic lights would be very good for all soft corals.
IMO Its not how much flow that becomes an issue in these reef tanks its volume of flow from a single power head that can create issues. I have 2 power heads in my 29 gal cube for flow along with a loc line splitter from my main pump too. I just tuned down the flow rate on the 2 in my tank so I didnt create a hurricane effect but I have no dead spots now.
I have a RIO800 and a Maxijet 30 in my tank for flow and my main pump is a RIO1100. LOL I think I have like 35X turn over rate in my tank...

The only problem is, i used to have a CPR hang on fuge, but the opening in the top of the acrylic tank isnt big enough for it,i would have to mod a HOB filter and turn it into a fuge. I know nothing about how to do it though, ill start researching! But will a fuge and a hob skimmer be enough filtration?

Thanks for the info!!
Ill def go with the coralife lights :) As for the sump, theres no storage under the tank,so id have to put the sump on the side of,or behind the tank on a sperate table or something, but i have cats and id be afraid theyd get into it...ugh im very confused!

Well their curiosity would prob get the better of them but I dont think a fuge would keep their interest too much. You would prob be more apt to seeing them on your DT trying to get at your fish.

Yes I think a Fuge and a HOB Skimmer would be sufficient for your tank. Most of the 29 Gal nano cubes in here only have a wet dry filter on them and they function just perfectly without skimmers.

I have a 37 gal cube, and only run a magnum hob canister. canister filter that sits on the floor, live rock and powerheads.
its been up and running for alsmost two yrs.
