Ok so as some of you may remember I picked up a "rescue fish" from ***** a couple months ago. He was starving with every rib showing and had slight signs of hille. The first night he was so weak he got stuck to my powerhead and I had to turn it off for a couple days.
Anyways He has put some meat on his bones and eats well. I feed him one times a day with pellets and one time a day with algae. I throw mysis in there once a day as well but dilemma number one they rarely get it because it floats and they stay towards the bottom. So i bought some frozen stuff and am going to try that. I soak all of the food in zoe mixed with zoecon. Paremeters stay at zero constantly and i check them often. It is a 29 gallon tank.
Now please do not flame me. I am well aware that it is too small of a tank for a tang. However, i was doing what I thought was best, the poor thing was an inch from death and most people wouldn't waste their money.
Anyways the hille has not increased dramatically but i think it has matured a bit. My questions are does hille damage ever heal, or completely stop? What should i do to improve? move feedings up more?
Additionally I am thinking that if it doesn't help after i try a few more things I may offer him for free along with the zoe and zoecon to someone with a bigger tank in this site who lives in my area. I think that if everything else fails the stress of the tank size may be what is doing it. And i didn't save him to kill him. He is not a large fish yet. I would say still under the small category. But i don't want to take my or his chances.
What do you guys think.

Keep up the good work, I'm sure the fish is much happier with you then the previous owner. I doubt the fish will ever look normal again. But that doesn't mean its not happy.

Tarball is right. When a fish is starved, its body begins to “digest itself” in order to stay alive. If you can catch them in time (and it sounds like you did) to get them to start eating, their bodies will never look the same because some of their skeletal and muscular structures have been forever changed. He may not look good, but if he’s eating then you have done a great service to this fellow.
Nice work man.

Thank you guys for that... i was starting to feel a little bummed...
Anyways. I researched hille and everything about it is really controversial. I still can't figure out if it can be completely cured?

I think I have read well some fish have healed. You may want to post a pick on the disease forum and get more advice.
