Advice please - moving to new tank.

Moving my 75gal to 115 gal with a 30 gal sump. I have some ideas but I am wondering how I should go about the process.
Use the old water? Or all new? All new means I must acclimate all livestock (reef tank with corals, inverts and fish).
I thought of moving some old water to the new tank, adding new water then adding new water to both tanks, to keep the water fairly consistent until each tank is about half new water half old.

I moved from a 75 to a 90. I saved as much water as I could in a large rubbermaid tub. Mixed up enough fresh water to top of the 90. Transferred by corals and livestock to the tub. Set up the 90, placed my rock, pumped old water into the new tank, placed my corals and fish then topped off with new water. (heated, mixed and salinity tested)
Everyone survived.

I'm in the process of moving from a 125 to a 200 right now. I used all new water, but put in sand out of an established system, 100 lbs of new LR, but keep adding a piece or two of my old LR over and I keep putting in more and more of the sand from my old tank. Tomorrow I'm going to add water from my old tank into the new instead of topping off with fresh and then just top off my existing tank with fresh. The 200 has been up and running for 10 days now, I'm hoping to transfer over my first fish (damsels of course) in another 3 weeks. There are already crabs, snails and other critters in the new tank that had been in the established sand base and rocks, they're all doing ok.

Thanks guys for taking the time out to give your thoughts. I realize I might be making a bigger deal over this than is really necessary. This really shouldn't be so complicated.
