I have a new 75 gal that I am going to be setting up and want an aggressive tank. I already have a powder brown and a blue hippo that I am going to put in their from my reef tank.
what else should I get!
You could get a niger trigger. It COULD outgrow your tank in the future but they grow very very slowly. There's one inside of the fish tank in my college's biology building and it really hasn't gotten that much bigger in the two and a half years i've been going there. He's a pretty cool fish that always swims up to the glass when people walk by and puts up his trigger fins alot.
Well its 2" or more. Thats fast for a trigger, Humu's can grow as little as 1" per year. Its not that slow in the grand scheme of thing, many fish top out at around 2". What fish did you have that grew 12" in 6 months?
A Silver Arrowana, he went from 12"es to 24" in 6 months. So that fish must have been a yearling by the point I got ride of him. I could have kept him longer, he was in a 7' tank (220 Gallons) but wanted to give him to a bigger home. So found a guy that only wanted one fish and he was going into a 300 Gallon. Great fish, but he'd eat you out of house and home
Why are you putting tangs in an aggressive tank? IMO tangs aren't that aggressive unless you put them in with their own kind. Although they graze on algae they might have trouble getting food with their aggressive tankmates. just my .02
Lol well thats a freshwater fish that can grow up to 4' long. Not even comparable to fish that don't grow nearly that large
Tangs are a popular addition to many aggressive tanks. They can be large enough to fend for themselves, and as free swimmers they are 'out and about' in the tank for show.
good about the tangs, I dont want them in my reef tank cause they have a tendency to get ich and I dont want to have to destroy my reef again to catch them. So they will fend for themselves?
Do all large angels get to big for a 75? cause I really want one
All large angels do. The tangs will also get too large for a 75, they require a lot of swimming room. Theres plenty of cool dwarf angels to choose from, I'm preferant to the Flame Angels.

Just remember to not keep more than two dwarf angels together at one time....
