affordable zoos threads.

it would also open it up to people that arent able or are not comfortable with the other setup to be able to afford some different zoos.

Excellent news! Provided the final rules can be hammered out and agreed to, and everyone agrees to them, both flricordia and Bronco300 have agreed to be growers (like Z, they would receive a frag of the zoas they handle for free). That would raise the potential number of initial frags to 6, giving us 60 available slots for participants. Current list has 24 (I believe), and I have 3 more requests to be added. I would propose that we agree to expand the list to a maximum of 30, engage in a round-robin system when paying for the frags (i.e. #1 gets first choice, then #2, etc. till we get to 30; then it starts over again with #1). At that rate, all thirty people on the list would be assured of having a shot at getting two rare frags in the initial round. If individuals choose to pass, some may be able to get 3 frags. If no one wants three frags, then we can open it up to further participants. Additionally, I have another fragger who currently has one of the proposed zoas, and is willing to be a fragger for it, if it is choosen.

why doesnt everyone that has zoos that are fragable make a list of what they have. negotiate a term of x amount of dollars sold to only members that have been around the boards and contribute to the forums. x$ for common x$ for medium rare and x% for super rare with none being over x amount of money. With the understanding that they will offer the same zoas when fragable at the same cost. IF the person doesnt hold up they can not participate in the program again. if they hold up to the rules of the program they are welcome to continue participating in it.
Dont get me wrong I like the idea that you guys have but I can see where after the first time it may not happen again. so maybe this type of program membership type thing in conjunction with the other. of course no membership dues will be due or demanded for this of course.
Mike
Think this is an excellent idea (and I think something similar is already making the rounds ~ although I believe its based on a simple trade rather than money), this group could be called the ZFA (Zoa Fraggers Association) ~ and is perhaps best dealt with in a seperate thread so that this one does not become too confusing). I don't have many that are currently fragable, but recently aquired several high end zoa frags and would be willing to participate in this. If others are interested, as Mike said, it would enable the passing of some frags around sooner, rather than later. I will start another thread on this and post a link here, and those who are interested can chime in with a list of zoas they currently have in hand, fragable or not.

After having seen flricordias and bronco300s tanks/threads I have no problem at all in those choices either. I like the newer set up too. This allows more people a chance at getting real nice zoos, and to help make them more affordable. This is a great idea thanks fishygurl for getting this idea started

RZA (Rare Zoa Association) Rules of Participation
Grower

reefkprZ will QB the growing of two initial frags (assuming he will agree to two). He will be responsible for receiving, growing, fragging and shipping the frags to the waiting participants on the list. Z will recieve a frag off of each colony he grows for free
Planner

COWFISHRULE will be the planner. His job will be to collect the money, order the initial frags, and put the names on the list in the order that they paid. He will also officially close each list on each zoa once the maximum number of participants has been reached. The list must be kept updated, and posted as to who has paid, what order they are in, and when the frags are shipped. He is the only one that may contact the grower in dealing with this whole operation. He is responsible for supplying the addresses of the next receiver to the grower and relaying tracking info. He will also receive a free frag off of each colony that he organizes and handles info for.
Rules of Participation

1. Everyone who participates will contribute $20.00+ to cover the initial cost and shipping charges of the frag they desire
2. Limit of 10 people per frag (those who already indicated they are interested have first crack (since there are only going to be two initial choices there is no limit) ~ after that it opens up to anyone else who wants in)
3. No one gets a frag until there are enough polyps for everyone to receive their individual 3 polyp frag (that means the original frag has to grow to 36 polyps)
4. Grower and Planner each receive their frag for free
5. Everyone pays final shipping costs over and above initial costs to receive their frag
6. Each individual who receives a frag agrees that if they continue to grow and frag their zoa they will continue to offer it on this forum for the same cost per polyp that they originally paid.
Conditions of Participation

1. Everyone who participates understands that it could be a year or more before they receive their frag.
2. Everyone who participates understands they could lose their initial investment as a result of unforseen circumstances (tank crashes, shipping error, etc.) and agrees not to hold planner or grower or Saltwaterfish.com responsible for their lose
3. Everyone who participates understands that the zoa colony may morph as a result of tank conditions and that the frag they receive may not resemble the original frag that was purchased.
PMs sent to both reefkprZ and COWFISHRULES to see if they can agree to these terms.
I agree to these rules, and will participate as grower/shipper, for up to 2 morphs = 20 people.
after the initial runs are done I will continue to offer the frags from the colony (after growing it out more) at the same $20+shipping for 3 polyps, to SWF.com members with the participants in these lists getting first dibs on new frags.
you'll all be happy to know that I have ordered another Ice cap powered VHO 4x110W bulb set up so my frag growout race way is progressing. another couple months and it should be operational.

Growers requested one additional change on the rules (I highlighted it in red).
Kholla12 has cherrybombs and will be a grower for them, if participants desire they be one of the choosen zoas.

I still agree to these rules and will participate as noted in post 109,
NOTE: If the rules change after this has begun, or expectations of my duties/participation changes without my consent, I will walk away from this project hands down, and not look back.
If such a case occurs I will return the original frag purchased by the Rare Zoa Association (hereafter called RZA) to the organizer (or recipient of the orignizers designation) at its original size/polyp count, at the expense of the RZA.
I'm not saying this to be mean but we need to be 100% sure on what is happening, that wont happen if the rules change after getting everyones consent.
I hope everyone understands this, I dont want anyone to be shafted or confused or mislead.

I agree, but first before everyone gets all exicted we need to find a supplier...
that is the organizers responsibility to do the purchase, the descision on type is voted on the organizer makes the purchase (feel free to help him find it but dont violate SWF.coms rules in doing so, AKA links etc.)
