Does anyone know how long can a fish live when give an good environment?
I am asking this b/c I'm thinking my mature Longnose Hawkfish (who can't close his mouth and cant see/sense food very well anymore
) either gotten too old or just sick...
Thanks for anyone's opinion.

How long have you had him for?? Eventually they all die but as for the longevity of this particular fish, I am unsure....

I had my longnose hawkfish for 3 years now, he had live through every disasters with ick outbreak and other sorts as a beginner. He's probably 5-6inches long.
Thanks!

have no idea about hawkfish but clowns, tangs and many freshwater cichlids (jack demsey comes to mind) can live 15-20+ years.

Angels and Tangs up to 20 years
Clowns up to 10 years
Eels up to 10 years
Pretty much everything else 2 to 4 years.

Most fish can live longer than 4 years.
Without knowing how old a fish was when you got him; you have no way of knowing his age now.
