I am planning a tank with the following fish.
1 radiata lionfish
1 humuhumu triggerfish
1 hawaiian blue spotted puffer
1 sohal tang
In a 125 gallon tank
with 45 pounds of live rock and two inches of live sand.
will this work?
will the fish eat clams?

Your second lineup would probably be fine. However, what is the exact species of 'Hawaiin blue puffer' are you speaking of? There are several puffer species that go by that common name, and all of them are quite different. If it's a toby, it will probably pick the lion's fins. If it's Arothron meleagris, it would probably be fine. I'd personally drop the tang and add a wrasse or eel of some sort. Also, you'll probably want more than 45lbs of rock. That'll look pretty bare in a 125.

You new line up looks a lot better. I do not recommend mixing lion with tobies since they are more likely to nip at your lion. However, lion and any arothron sp. is always a good match.

If you're talking about C. jactator or solandri, then my answer is no. I've kept many different species of tobies, and I noticed they tend to be more aggressive (and notorious nipper, too!) than other tobies like valentini. Do you have a particular reason that you must have hawaiian spotted? I think you have enough space to house a big puffer like dogface.

Really? I've never heard anyone saying dogface are ugly. Well, i guess it's just your personal preference. There are many other attractive arothron species....I have a map puffer...I think they're the most gorgeous fish...at least pattern-wise.....though quite expensive
