No i really was going to upgrade within the year i always do it every august. I wasnt calling you a liar at all but its hard to know if someone is 100% right when youve been told and have read many times before that it can be done.I know your very fish smart and that you probably dont like me very much and thats understandable but im not aure if i should believe the 3 people in this thread that have said this(one who a couple threads back said it was doable and now reverses his opinion)or believe all of the books and other threads and profiles ive read online and even on this forum.
Do you see what i mean? Im not insulting your intelligence at all and i apologize if it seems that way
And I myself feel that anything smaller that a 55 is to small for the eel.
My point is some snowflake eels reach 38 inches in captivity but this is rare ive met 1 person that even got close to the mark and his was 30 inches.
55 gallon is 48 inches and an eel doesnt move around that much so a 55 gallon seems suitable
do you see where im coming from

dwarf lion yes foxface requires 90 gal and up maroon clowns are the largest of clowns and would be more suitable for a larger system because of its agressivness and territorial behavior. for a small system such as yours i would go with smaller species .hawkfishy pseudochrimis, such as dottty's ect.i recommend doing a search on a few web sites such as .http://species.fishindex.com/search.php?p=pseudochromis .pick your first fav fish the one you must have then all others are to be compatable with it and any others that you may want to add.if you check compatabilty of each species b4 buying it you will have a much better chance of keeping them all together.

I know people say there going to upgrade and never do but if he wanted to get a snowflake he could, I have seen those guys so small it’s ridiculous. I have actually had one that was so tiny I couldn’t even find him; I had to move him to a 10 gallon just so i could feed him till he got bigger. He couldn’t have been more than 4" and smaller than a pencil thick. Snowflakes are fast growers but if he did have every intension on upgrading in august he could get a really small one.

they can be ok for their there own health but may not be good for other tank mates it realy depends on what you put with it.and yes the snow flake will do fine most of its life from all i have read.I had one for a couple yrs in my 125 be sure to seal the tank well they will escape through some of the most un thought of places.

Snow Flake eel will be fine, no worries. It takes many years for them to get that size and your talking about upgrading so thats good news too. Most snowflakes get to about 18 to 30 inches. I have one at 15 inches. So your good. Marroon clown will be fine, but they can be aggressive, had one kill a flame angel on me. Good luck.

thanks alot to both of you. Do radiatta or antenatta lions and the SFE sound like goos tankmates to the GSM pair.

yes they sound fine your tank is good for a snow flake eel gold stipe maroon and dwarf
lion fish sound like an excellent choices but in about a year you proabably need to
up grade to a 75 gallon and then thats it oh yeah how big are you gonna get the snow flake eel it i would get it at about 8 or 9 inches so then in maybe about a year and a half or two years the eel will need to go to a bigger tank such as a 75 gallon and thats what it needs full grown every things combatible so go for it

yes they can be ok but with caution.the lion and the SFE are fine the clowns are your caution with your lion.it is very pos that they can become a snack for your lion.if you can find larger maroons thos would be your best bet.I keep a vol in my reef and hes been known to pick off a few of smaller fish including my smallest maroon right out its anenome
.if you feed them daily you will have less chance of this happening, still not a garentee.remember with lions anything that can fit into its mouth is a potential meal.

send me an email at lyndog13@aol.com and ill send you a link to a compatability
chart but id say a flame hawk very bright colored fish min tank size is 30 gal they grow up to 4 inches .they are very active fish but not big swimmers but very smart fish and can stay away from lions very well i have one they remind me of little sunburnt zombies lol.and if you keep snails and small crabs they are very entertaining to watch them flame hawks will jump on a snail until its knocked off the glass then suck it out of its shell lol.just dont mix hawkfish with other hawkfishes
