Aggressive Zoos

How is possible to get these guys to calm down. They won't stop spreading. I keep pulling off the branches, and they come right back. This is how it used to look like only 2 months ago.

I don't know as if you can slow them down, if they are going to grow they are going to grow. It's not a bad thing IMO, cuz you can just sell them to make profit. Anything wrong with that?

That's some sort of macro algae, maybe grape caluerpa, not zoos. It looks like the zoos on the rock are overgrown with the stuff.

macro algae grows fast and furious. IMO all you can do is keep it trimmed up. it's good though to keep nitrates/phosphates at a minimum. so don't think it's a bad thing.

Your zoos are totally covered by algae! Do you have any algae eating inverts in your tank like maybe an emerald crab? I'm not sure emeralds will even eat that stuff, its kinda noxious I think. Maybe someone else can chime in.

A tang might make short work of it is your tank is big enough for one. I hope your zoos are still alive under that jungle.

Take out the rock and pull as much or the seaweed off of it and put the rock back in the tank some where light will not shine directly on it and if the zoos are still ok will open back up and the seaweed may not grow back or as fast cause of less light.

Wow, if that is caulerpa, yours looks a lot nicer than mine. Mine grows like lightning too, but it doesn't grow in nice, tight bunches like that.
