Recently I was having major problems adding additional livestock to my aquarium. The fish I have are quite aggressive and would viciously attack any newcomer on sight. I tried EVERYTHING to tame their aggressive behaviors and had little luck. Eventually the newcomer would keep itself hidden at all times. One day I randomly decided to place a piece of mirror on the outside of the aquarium (using my magfloat)
This surprisingly worked, my aggressive fish saw their reflections and kept to the side of the aquarium with the mirror. Eventually the new fish would come out of hiding and make itself visible to the aggressors for short periods, now they are used to each other and get along.
I wasn't sure if this would be useful to anyone but it certainly helped me out.
