Agressive Tank - 30 Gallon

Ok, I am changing my 30 gallon that I currently have an agressive tank, but I wanted some ideas. The current reef fish will be going in to the 90 Gallon that i will be getting on January 13 (Less than a month, and I am super excited). Here is what I am looking at so far:
Spanish Hogfish
Hawkfish
Wolfe Eel

IMO the hogfish gets too big for a 30 gallon. I think your hawkfish should be fine...don't know that any get above 5" mark. The eel...not sure how active they can be, but know they can get aprox. 2' in length...I personally would pick a new list. cept for the hawkfish. That eel, beyond activity is going to create alot of bio...will be hard to keep the parameters in check.

Holy ****!!!! The Lfs told me that they stay around 4-5". When I did some reading the get up to 14 inches, but can get up to 16"!!!!

Hoeven's Wrasse (Halichoeres melanurus)
-gets around 4-5"
Pinkface Wrasse (Thalassoma quinquevittatum)
- gets around 5-6"
I would go with the Yellow Wrasse (Halichoeres chrysus)
-my favorite, gets to 4"
and the Mystery Wrasse (Pseudocheilinus ocellatus)

I've had a Yellow Canary Wrasse for about a year and they're great fish, plus they don't get too big.

IMO, the Thalassoma wrasse are just too active for a 30 gal. Check out some of the fairy & flasher wrasse; just because they are considered "reef safe" doesn't mean they can't do well in a FOWLR tank.

The yellow wrasse is around $25. You just need to have at least 1" sandbed for them. That's where they sleep, under the sand.

Cool. I have abuot a 2" Sandbed in tank currently, and plenty of critters that keep it nice stirred and clean. It will probably be february, before I will be able to change the tank over, because the 90g will have to run at least a month before I am able to place my livestock in the new tank....... However, I am very excited in twicing over the 30 gallon to a more aggressive tank

Actually it was a 35g with a 20g sump, ASM mini g skimmer and a 9watt UV.Thats why they are in a 150g as of 7 months ago. But they were fine for a year as they were TINY when i got them. But i knew i was going to upgrade within the year. Just as i know im going to upgrade again to be able to keep all of them (except the clown trigger as it gets bigger and thus crazy) when we build our next/last house within the next 3 years.

that tank is wayyyyyy overstocked
I am agree about the overstocked, but we all do that to some degree or another. However, I love that varity and especially huma and clown, just a shame that such a beuitful fish goes psychatic.....

Is it a FOWLR Wrasse?? I am open to all suggestions.. I saw a Cuban Hogfish at the Saltwaterware house in OH, this after... to bad he gets 9"

the whipfin fairy wrasse is reef safe... but remember jusr because it is reef safe does not mean you cant have it in a fowlr. Just be sure it is covered because mine jumped out last week.

Currently I only have two wrasses in the tank.. A very brightly colored Solar Fairy Wrasse (was a christmas gift from Star27624) and a unique Blue Fairy Wrasse... I think I saw a picture of him on another website and they called him a Peacock Fairy Wrasse, other than Green, you can see every other color of the rainbow in him... so after the addition of these two, i am really liking the wrasse group... Ultimately for my Reef tank I want a Hawian Flame Wrasse Pair

I only thing that sucks about the Solar, is that here in Indiana are expensive :-( But a very cool fish you have... hum, can you keep more than on in a large tank.... like a 75/90????
