I dont know why people panic when they go away. Your fish will survive a week without food. If you should happen to lose a fish, it will become dinner for everyone else and not promote the ammonia. If you must have someone feed your fish, buy some of the frozen packets that come in cubes. Tell whoever you leave in charge, to fill a cup of water from your tank and to put one cube in it. When the cube melts, they just dump it in the water. Tell whoever, to just feed your fish, every 2 or 3 days. Your fish will survive that long. Then when you get home, your fish might be hungry but they will be alive.

the problem is, the 4 fish i have will not eat an entire cube... and my snowflake and valentini need krill and things in their diet. I wish it was that easy.

It will work in a small tank, if it doesn't, then it is because you dont have a big enough clean-up crew. You can still not feed them for a week and they will survive. That is the biggest problem in this hobby, overfeeding!
