I'm sooo mad!!! My new JBJ 6 gal tank is leaking. It's a slow leak, but still a leak.

I called them and I have to send them all this paper work, proof of purchase and stuff. I hope they will send me a new one so I can just transfer my LR and LS into that tank THEN send them back the leaky one.

It's leaking at the bottom from these two screw hole things. I just wanted to fill the little holes with super glue, but my husband say I shouldn't have to fix a new tank.

I hope this won't mess up my cycle. OH well.

My husband thinks I should drain the whole thing now. If you look in the pic, you can see what might look like water damage and he thinks it might start leaking from other places and leak out all over the place.
But I don't know where to put my LR and LS. I do have an extra 12 gal Aquapod (I don't know if you all remember the big recall on those). But they let us keep the whole tank for spare parts.
The pump still works, but I'd have to fill the whole tank.
Any suggestions or comments would be great!!

to be honest thats great news, look at the upside you got a leak befor anything major was done to the tank, just take it as being lucky u got a leak now...no leak is a good leak but better now then having one later with ur tank full of coral and fish. but its still a pain i know..

Yeah I wouldn't take any chances either...put your sand and rock in a rubbermaid...put in a powerhead, heater...etc...bring the tank back...then your stuff is still cycling and you don't lose anything in the process.

I don't have a powerhead, but I do have the extra tank. I think I will go get it from the barn.
I'll let you know how I make out.
I'm also going to call JBJ again. I e-mailed all that info so they should have it.

are JBJ's glass or acrylic? I hope you get a new one but if not you can probably fix it if you drain and dry it.

get a rubber maid container, and just transfer everything to it,powerheads dont cost that much if you get one from your LFS,i payed 15 bucks for a small one

So I transfered my water, LR and LS into my 12 gal tank. I have no lights. To avoid having to fill my whole 12 gal tank, I put my heater above the sand stuck to the side of the glass and pulled my pump from the back chamber and just stuck it to the wall for water flow.
I went from this:

to this:

My husband told me to call the company I bought it from instead of the waranty place so I did. He is such a genious!! Either that or I'm just really stupid. They will have a new tank to me on Thursday!!

this won't bother my cycle, right? I have heat and water flow, that's all I really need, right? I just have Lr and LS

i hate to hear that zoie, i hope everything works out with that! your cycle should have a little bit of a set back because of it being a new tank, but your live rock and sand should have a head start if i'm not mistaken?? correct me if i'm wrong lol

I have a nice piece of LR in my 12 gal that's COVERED in coraline algae. I want to add it to my 6 gal to help the coraline grow.
Should I wait till after my cycle to add it?
I should get my replacement tank on Thurs and I was thinking of adding it then, but I'm not sure if the cycle will hurt the coraline, thus defeating the purpose.
Any ideas or suggestions?
