well today after work i found them laying on the sand bed. the big center stalk was smashed by the rock. when i picked it up the middle of it was brown and looked to be rotting. the lights have been on a hour now and they are pulsing still but i dont know if it will make. is there anyway i can help this coral out?

keep a *light* current on it to keep detritus off. This will help prevent infection. Only time will tell if it makes it.

I had this same thing happen to me a few weeks back when i was fragging some xenias. I just set in low current ( as mentioned above) and in a week and a half or so, it looked alot better, (also wouldn't hurt to add some iodine, as mentioned). Now, i can't tell witch xenia it even happen to. These xenias i have are aquacultured and really seem to be tough as nails compaired to collected species. :D :D

my problem with xenia is that I flush it in toilet every 4 months coz its growing like weed, its unstoppable..no iodine or any supplement added..

I have a Xenia now - and am looking for others experience.
I have heard mixed opinions about Iodine additions. Sounds like some people here do it, how often?
Does yours like much current?
Mine has shrunk some since I got him on Sunday. I am a little concerned.

I just had my Xenia shrink way down after changing my sump. It's now been 3 days, and it's on it's way to recovery.
I use Iodine. I follow the dosing recomendations on the bottle, and it seems to be good for all my corals.
I've read, and heard from others on this board, and am now getting experience, that Xenias are some of the hardiest and easiet to keep corals.

I dose iodine 1/2 the reccomended dosage listed on the bottle. I do this because i don't test for iodine and would rather add too little than add too much.
