ok so here we go, i get home from working at the ER at 4am. i look into my tank with my pen light like always to check everyone out before i go to bed. all is well. i wake up at 730am to get ready for my dentist appointment and smell burning plastic
apparently the rio pump that goes from my sump to my refugium exploded during the 3 1/2 hrs i was sleeping. all 7 of my fish are dead, my eibli angel, hawaiian blue puffer, 2 black and white saddleback clowns, scooter blenny, starry blenny and long nose hawkfish. i also lost my blood shrimp. but for some reason all my corals survived so i rescued them and took them to my moms 44g corner tank.
so now my 55g is sitting around with hermit crabs and snails. i called my LFS once they opened and told me to bring in a water sample and my dead pump. the only good news is that its still under manufacture warranty so if it is indeed a device malfunction i get a check cut out to me for my loss. it helps but still doesnt make me feel better, its hard watching your last fish die infront of you when its your favorite one
