I bought 2 vega to go over my 80 gallon rimless that is 16in deep.No documentation came with these lights.AI told me via email to put them 6 in off the water.I have them 7.5.I also have them at 90% intensity. My question is what are y'all doing in regards to height and intensity?Im frustrated because there are so many options.Hopefully someone out there has done a little trial and error.I think my current setup is off because I'm starting to see a little green algae on my rocks but not to bad yet.All my params are spot on.

I haven't seen anyone here who is actually running those lights yet. But going by specs and the history of the products they are using I'd say you might want to start them out a little lower than 90%. Perhaps you could consider droping them to 50% for a week or two and then slowly start raising them. The Cree XML chips that they are running in those things are essentially capable burning 10 watts each. Many people have bleached their corals with the old fixtures at less power then that.
Remember that your corals are not just adjusting to light intensity but they have to adjust to the change in the spectrum of light that they are accustomed to being under.
The more intense light could be a contributing factor to the increase in algae growth. You may want to take a closer look at your parameters and check to see if your test kits are still good. Algae in the tank is a direct indication of nutrient levels in the system. If there's algae then you know there are nutrients supporting it. Most times you might not register nitrates on a test kit because the algae is consuming it so fast it leaves you with a false negative.

My tank is 16 tall and I was experiencing bleaching at 50% and 8 inches from water line. I am now around 30% white and 45% blues and %2 red and green. Also raised the light up to 14 above water line. Colors starting to come back slowly.

I was way off on my settings.I had them way too high. The green I thought was algae starting was the green led.I took my white down to 10% all blues at 65% red at 35% and green at 20.My corals look 100% better.I ended up at 8 in awl but I think I might go up to 12.Lfs has all theirs at 12.These lights are powerful!
