Aiptasia at the LFS

Wow. I went out tonight to an LFS to de-stress from the Monday thing. Just looking. There was aiptasia everywhere and HUGE ones. Has anyone else seen them in the stores?
Recently I had several aptasia appear on dead coral that I had purchased at my new fave place, but none on the LR I bought from the place I was at tonight.
Had a good discussion with the FC (fish clerk, for lack of..) she was pointing out the larger specimen to me! Very enlightening.
Added to this is that I REMOVED the piece from my tank that was supporting these critters two days ago.
I realized that I had probably never gone in and truly LOOKed at what was beyond the pretty fishies.
I also saw some examples of the little tiny seastars that are abundant in my tank.
Anyone else?

How long have you had your tank? That stuff (Apt.) is a pain in the neck. I would like to see some pics if you have any.

OMG i've been to a couple of LFS with massive Apt. outbreaks. Heck I had even been too the Texas Sea Center out here where they have many massive and few small tanks on display for people to see and i've noticed one of there 30g's is full of massive Apt.

I went to a lfs last weekend and went on Aiptasia patrol. I brought it to their attention and went went around to every tank in the store and he got them all (hopefully.) He's a friend of mine, just never noticed them before. He has two kids that work for him, so hopefully he gave them a talk about the aiptasia. I dont see it as a real big deal, its a pest that you cant help if you get it or not. I purchased ALL but 1 piece of live rock from this guy, and the one piece I didnt get from him had aiptasia on it!

Greg, this 60 gal has been up for about two years. The root tank was a ten gallon about nine years ago. I had never had aptasia before. I removed the dead coral and chose not to re-cure. Sorry no photos of the aptasia. I am including a pic of the tank, itself.
The FC that I was talking to said she had actually had people want to PURCHASE the aptasia. They could make a bundle!
The more objectively I look at pests and what-not, the more I really get a kick out of this hobby.
