I have used aiptasia control and it works But i was wondering if any one else has had this problem with this product?
i opened a 15.00 box of this product and used it a cuple of days later i saw a nother aiptasia and went to use the aiptasia control again it was as hard as a rock. ok so i thought it was me using the same syringe from tank to bottle of aiptasia control and back and so forth. I thought i was to blame becuse i touchen the product with salt water.
so i went out and got a new bottle of the same product and used it once recaped it "tight" and went back a week later to use it again and it was dry as well.
what can i do about it is there a way i can make it liquid again??
does any one know a rep or someone from "blue vet" or "blue life" that would be willing to swap me new botles of the stuff for ther dryed out product.
let me know if i am the only one that this happened to.
is joe juice like that also ?
thank you for your time.

No experience with either product. I have pretty good luck using lemon juice. Just cut, squeeze and inject. No bottles, no fuss...and you can make lemonade with the leftovers.

I've used it as well, and have the same problem. In fact the first bottle I got, came half-dry. Asked the LFS owner about it, but haven't heard anything back on it. Second bottle I've been shaking every few days to keep it liquid ~ seems to be working
. Does yours leave the white residue after you use it?

Yah! Was wondering if it was just me. You can rinse it off with a turkey baster after a day or two if you want to, otherwise it dissolves slowly on its own.

I have used Joes Juice numerous times and it does not harden up. Sometimes the needle gets stopped up, but I have never had to liquid harden up.

I use Kalk powder and RODI water to make a thick paste and then with a baster or eye dropper bombs those little guys.
Its a cheap alternative you can try and doesnt harm your tank at all. Plus it doesnt go "dry"

Joes never goes dry either. I've had one bottle for at least a couple years and it never dried out. Now I have a new bottle (new tank) and it's still fine after a couple months.

The last time I used a Kalk paste the aip broke up and spread. I've been gun shy ever since.

geez, ive never heard of anyone having these problems with the kalk paste.

Good luck, my peppermint shrimp have been able to keep any in check lately. Maybe try them, but they only seem to go after the smaller aptasia.

peppermint shrimp cant eat the aiptasia befor they get it frome my Purple Pseudochromis he eats them for snacks
In my case, the CBS prolly wouldn't take too kindly to another shrimp.
What are the active ingredients in Joes Juice and Aiptasia Control?

My 29 gallon was infested with aiptasia. I got a peppermint shrimp and within 3 weeks all the aiptasia was gone.

Peppermints will eat it, but can't (shouldn't) be added to a tank where there will be a livestock conflict.
ps...just wanted to add that not all peppermints will eat aip.

Bottle of Aiptasia Control doesn't say, curious myself. Based on look and how it acts, wouldn't be surprised to find out that its some kind of Kalk paste itself.

+1, I've had a couple that never ever touched them.

I have had this issue with "aptasia control" both times I have purchased it, both bottles were very chunky and would clog the syringe plus they would constantly dry out. You can rehydrate it by adding a little water though and then shake it well. I have had far better success with joes juice, never had any chunks and the bottle must seal better because I have kept them for a couple of months without any issues.
The key with both these products is not to inject the aiptasia just squirt some onto the oral disk and tenticles and the aiptasia will pull it into its mouth.
The patent on joes juice lists the main ingredients as RO water, lime, and salt. I would assume aiptasia control is the same or at least very similar.
As far as peppermint shrimp go I haven't been impressed with the results in my tank I have had about 15 of them not positive what happens too them as they slowly disappear in my tank my theory is maybe a midnight snack for my sally lightfoot crab. Anyway I was excited at first to see them eating the aptasia even some of the larger ones but that was short live because within a couple of weeks I noticed my aiptasia population that had been fairly stable started multiplying like crazy and I was back to dosing joes juice weekly to stay ahead. Now that I have no peppermints my aiptasia population has become stable again and until sunday I hadn't used joes juice in a couple of months. Just my experience, from other posts I have read people have had great success with them so feel free to try it just be sure they are true peppermints or you will have more problems than just aiptasia.
